For most of history, becoming fully human happened slowly — through relationships, struggle, silence, community, and time. These were the places where character was formed, wisdom was earned, and the soul learned to wait.
AI doesn’t remove these things. But it offers something that feels like a shortcut around them — instant answers instead of discernment, constant availability instead of relationship, simulated understanding instead of being truly known.
Most people don’t notice the shift.
We believe this moment calls for something old made new: intentional, embodied, communal formation — for a world that increasingly offers everything except the things that actually form us.
Formation, not information.
Most responses to AI fall into one of two categories: tools that promise to make you more productive, or warnings that tell you to be more careful.
CHF offers something different.
Formation is always happening. AI is forming you. Algorithms are forming you. The pace of modern life is forming you. The question we should be asking is: what are these things forming you toward?
We believe the deepest questions AI raises aren’t really about AI at all. They’re about attention, presence, longing, and what it means to be made in the image of God in a moment when so much can be outsourced.

For 20 years, I’ve worked alongside people in some of their hardest moments — addiction, trauma, faith crises, the slow unraveling that happens when a person has been carrying too much for too long.
What I learned in those years is that real change doesn’t happen through information alone. It happens through formation — the slow, often invisible work of becoming a different kind of person, over time, in relationship.
AI is accelerating the question: What actually forms us? As more of life becomes mediated by technology that’s always available, always patient, and never quite real — the practices that used to form us almost by default now require something we have to choose on purpose.
CHF exists to help people make that choice. Not by rejecting technology, but by reclaiming the practices — silence, presence, community, discernment — that technology was never meant to replace.
